Been using ours for about 15 years now - it's wired in to an outside compartment so it's always in use when we connect to a pedestal. I had to replace the female outlet on the unit about 6 years ago but it still works great.

I have a 50 amp, if I were to buy again I would buy the 30 amp model even though I have a 50 amp coach.

I have 3 reasons,

1, the 50 amp model is heavy and awkward, it weighs in at 38 pounds, which is more than a full 6 gallon gas can, but in a much smaller space, it is like lifting a bottom heavy lead brick as most of the weight is in the bottom 1/3 of the metal box.

2, Most of the rv parks I have seen with low voltage issues are older poorly maintained parks with 20 and 30 amp only connections. (other people claim other experiences)

3, the 30 amp model is much cheaper (it also weighs in at only 20 pounds)

Ron and Katie,
Here is a link to just over 1,000 previous discussions. Most appear to compare / contrast between the autoformer and Progressive. Since weight has become part of the discussion, you will find a "ton" of useful information there.

Same with me- had to replace the receptacle a few years ago. Mine is also in one of the bays, I have a basic surge protector in front of it and then it feeds into the progressive ems
To the OP, I used my 50 amp for many years on my previous 30 amp coach.
