We recently sprung an easy to fix leak in our heater hose which in our 2000 HR diesel pusher goes from the rear of the coach to the front where the in dash heater is.

So I decided I wanted to replace all of my radiator and heater hoses.

With a call to the local Fteightliner shop with my Vin # I learned it is 3/4 inch by 76 foot heater hose.

My thought is that I would run some hard water line most likely the hard plastic house lines like the rig is plumbed with with smaller pieces of the 3/4 tube line at each end.

Has anyone tried this?
Any recomendations?

Thanks,
Mike

Pex I don't think is rated for that temp, not only the hot water but around many hot components.

Just but a 100' roll heater hose about $50-60

But FL Rad hoses are $165, try shopping their parts against Gates

I am pretty sure I met you on Milwaukee. I am the plumber for the Fair Park. I don't think that is a good idea. 1. Pex is only rated to 200 degrees. Engine coolant temps can exceed this. 2. Pex is oxygen permiable which can lead to corrosion of cooling system. 3. Pex has higher thermal conductivity meaning more heat lost before the hot coolant gets to your heater. I would stick with hose or the steel tubing used by other coaches for this.

Thanks for the advice guys.
Guess I will buy a roll of 3/4 heater hose at the auto parts store.

I will be back in Milwaukee next week staying a few weeks.
Brrrrrrrrr
