We have an 08 Winnie 37' Adventurer Limited with the 8.1, Allison 6 speed (2000) rear gas pusher. Climbed out of Denver on I-70 to Eisenhower Tunnel at low speed of 45 mph, could have gone faster as there was plenty of gas pedal but too much traffic. Runs like a charm, by the way we measure 37'-10", weight 26,000-30,000. Love my "Big Lucy"

We have the 8.1 with an Allison 6 speed transmission in a 38' Winnie Adventurer. Power has not been a problem at all, and like others who have posted, I usually turn around 2000 RPM (about 62 mph) and with a '05 Jeep Wrangler in tow, my gas mileage is in the 8.1 - 8.7 mpg range over relatively flat terrain.. I've had both the 8.1 and the Ford V-10, and I prefer the 8.1 overall.

We have a 2008 Winnabego Destination 39w, Workhorse R26 UFO chassis gas pusher (engine in the back and no noise and handles great!)with an 8.1 and Allison 6 speed. We are at 26,000 lbs and pull a 2,600 lb Honda Fit. Power is absolutely great and the Allison is super sweet and we average 7+ mpg and engine is not broken in yet (9,000 miles). We just got back from a 5,000 mile trip from Va to Az and NM and back. We ran at 60 to 70 mph with plenty of power for passing and hills. I love my 8.1/Allison gas pusher! Greg

We have an 08 Adventurer Limited with the 8.1 and Allison 2000 in a pusher mode. Lots of power and very quiet up front. We traveled to Colorado west of Denver on I70 thru Eisenhower Tunnel and then to east coast with no problems. Lots of power just too much traffic in some climbs to know exactly what speed it would top out at. Around 65mph gets best milage (8-8.5). Love this rig. Oldcrowlarry
