I have a 2003 Winnebago Brave equipped with a 8.1L gm Workhorse fuel injected engine. Hot or cold I have to crank the engine for 8-10 seconds 2 to 3 times before it will start. Once started, there are no issues. I have replaced the fuel pressure regulator with no help. My local mechanic want to replace the fuel pump to the tune of $1400. This includes removing the rear hydraulic jacks and dropping the fuel tank. Does anyone know of any other options?

Sorry that your having problems. There have been a few posts that detailed opening up the floor under the bed to access the pump. A last resort! As other posters have asked, did you verify fuel pressure loss with an hour long,engine off , test? When the key is first turned on , before you crank the engine, does the pressure build at all ?
