At that age you need to capacity test them (See how long they run before dying) but yes,, Mine made it to NINE. 7-10 is design life for most GC-2's though with abuse they can go in a year or less.

"We do not dry camp" so you likely can go another year or two.

If you DO dry camp.. (I did so unexpectedly last year) I was glad I replaced my 9 year old's with brand new DEKA's a few months earlier. Not saying anything special about DEKA. it's the BRAND NEW I gave thanks for.

Thing is, I've never seen any real difference in replacing batteries at home vs on the road, so just wait until I need them.

We generally do not dry camp but if you decide to overnight at a Walmart it's nice not to have to run the genset. The other situation we have run into is if a park looses power it's nice to have a battery reserve to keep the lights on
