'86 Vogue construction?

Hi everyone.

I'm having problems sufficiently researching our next purchase. Do any of you fine folks know the house construction of a '86 Vogue? I'd been interested mostly in Wanderlodges, but read the Vogue was on a bus chassis as well.

But I can't discern if they bought just the chassis (it is a Cat 3208t pusher) from Crown Coach, of if the house is fully framed house like a bus.

Thanks!
Matthew

It was purchased just as chassis. The chassis manufacturer had nothing to do with the house portion.

AFAIK, as long as Vogue was in CA, they used either Gillig, or Crown chassis, once they were taken over by Mitchell, they made their own (custom). Then came Featherlight/Prevost.

Mine states in it's manual that it's on "MSM" chassis, which I believe is Mitchell custom.

In any case,.....I am VERY happy with mine.

I missed that! Yup,......chassis, and house/coach is two different things.

Seems that Mitchell built coaches/houses, have rave reviews, and people hold them in high regard. I wouldn't know. Never had a pleasure of checking out the older ones, made in CA.

Thanks, yall.

How would one fair in a rollover? I know a Wanderlodge fairs rather well.

My coach is all steel beams, and I THINK it would do well. However,.....I can't think of a way to roll 40' long bus, and I don't intend to.

If you are looking for safety, security, etc.....modern coaches are boasting about,......you are looking at a wrong coach. I drive vintage coach because I LOVE vintage stuff, not because it's the "best of the best" in any kind of tests.

One thing I CAN tell you.........vintage Vogue is a LOT of bang for the buck.
