93 38 Safari Honda Gen 6300

I am restoring a 93 diesel pusher wide body and it had a propane Honda Gen set. I would run beautiful until I let off button. I noticed oil was way to full. I drained it down to right level. Playing with it holding button down getting it to warm up alittle. Finally it acts like it locked up or bindix on starter is jammed up. hopefully not the first. My question is what happened and if I bought a Onan will it run on Propane? Do I have to convert it? there's not many propane generators out there. Also very few Honda generator's. I did sound good before mishap. I just clicks now

Safari put propane generators in a lot of diesel chassis; probably as a cost savings over a diesel generator. Our '95 Safari Trek 6.5 Diesel came with a propane Onan generator. These are usually just gas generators slightly modified to run propane. The power is slightly less, but they are available from Onan. Check their website.

I don't believe Honda makes generators for permanent RV installation, or manufacturers never installed these, so yours may be a "generic" stand-alone model that a previous owner installed. Again, check the Honda generator website for troubleshooting technique, of find a manual for your generator.
