Talking 95 Monterey Cobra 6.5L diesel

Hello,
I have Monterey by Cobra 95 6.5L GM Pusher engine.
When I drive it and go over 100-110KM the temperature goes between 190-220F , and I’m most of time I stop or drop the speed down to 80km and then temp goes back to 180f.
However It my sound stupid but I was thinking to add second radiator and Fan beside the engine, and and make T pipe from the main Feed pipe to the main radiator, and same thing with return.
Any advice on idea please?

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I'm not a mechanic so won't attempt to answer that! Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Before doing anything that drastic, be certain that the radiator is clean and not partially plugged externally and internally. Is the fan working correctly? Your symptoms indicate a lack of proper air movement through the radiator or inadequate coolant flow either from blockage or water pump problem.

x2. The system probably worked at one time, figure out what's wrong and fix it. It may not be cheap but it's probably cheaper than what you're thinking about.

This article say's you're temps are normal.

There are many sites that will give you much better information about the 6.5L Detroit and it's known issues with overheating.
First, look for information on the dual-neck thermostat housing. It's as important as the aftermarket high-flow water pump. Next, find out about the modification to allow a fan from the Duramax engine to increase airflow.
Since you've got a '95, I would assume that you have the all-mechanical DB-2 pump. It's much more reliable than the DB-4 (electronic), but it still needs attention at times. Stanadyne has a fuel enhancer that they recommend.
