97 Fleetwood Pace Arrow Awning only goes out part way

Hi,

Got to our site, and never had this problem before.

Manual awning unlocked (lock/switch in "Roll out" position), sides all loose and work fine, but...

The awning will only roll out about 4 or 5 feet, then is stuck. Tried rolling it back in, back out, tried lock both positions several times.

I know the side arms are both loose and slide fine, everything is unlocked the same way we've always done for two years.

Is there a spring or mechanism inside the roller that could break or get stuck?

It's not an emergency, as we've got it part-way out, and can get it back in to go home, but it would be nice if I could fix it while here. Otherwise, I'll tear it apart after we get home.

Thanks!

I have your exact same motor home and awning except color wise. my lever to unroll and roll flips much further than your picture is showing. it will flip and actually touch the small rod coming out of the center. That would be my first thought is to check if your lever is pushed all the way. I do worry sometimes that whatever mechanism is inside there will fail. I have never had one apart but assume its just a tooth and cog type set up. I wish i could help more but I haven't ever had to have mine apart or experienced that issue. *knocks on wood

Thanks for replying. Yeah, when I took the picture, it was just in that position, I think, but I'll double check that. I'm pretty sure it goes all the way.
