Smile !997 Scenic cruiser dash air blowing hot

Purchased a new to us 1997 GS Scenic Cruiser II on a Freightliner chassis with the mech. 8.3 /300 Cummins. So far were just sorting out how it works and one area is the dash air, the fans and controls work however it blows hot in all positions for the AC. Any suggestions on were to start. Also we had major service done belts, oils, filters, tranny etc and the slobber tube is directed at the inspection plate of the tranny which cause's the blow by, which is minimal, to be sucked up and around the bell housing causing the oil to smoke and smell . Is there a solution to this or is this a cummins fix. Thanks and happy hi-ways

Find a small plastic bottle that will fit over the slobber tube. Drill some holes around towards the top. Secure it to the slobber tube, I used a pin that is used on the trailer hitch pins. This will catch the oil, keep an eye on it and empty as needed. I usually empty mine when I change oil.

The simplest thing to try on your AC it to add a can of refrigerant. You can buy a large can at any auto parts store of Walmart. I had the same trouble about 6 years ago, added one can and it's been fine ever since.

There will be a AC port either in the front near the AC evaporator of on the engine near the AC compressor.

Mine had a port near the front AC evaporator, I just charged the system there.

If you have a leak it may fix if for a short time. If it blows hot again you can try adding a dye and use an ultra violet light to find the leak. You can buy this at most auto parts stores or Walmart.
