A&E Power awning

I cannot locate the control panel for the awning. Any idea where it might be?
Winnebago 38 J
Also when I went to roll it tonight because of potential high winds ans heavy rain. We have had almost an inch in the last 12 hours
AND it would not roll up. As it acted like the batteries were dead or week. After several tries I gave it an assist with the mop handle and finally got it to close up
Any ideas
The Toads

You battery is probably almost dead. Have you checked it? A $10 volt meter from Walmart will do the job.

Hi TheToads,
Was the awning already wet? When wet, my awning also needs encouragement to retract.

Yes it was and still wet. Tried it again today and same thing. Checked the batts and they are all up
Found the control panel and it could not be in a worse place. They (idiots) put in on of the smallest outside cabinets, the small one with the water pump. Not only that but they put it in the back right corner, on the side wall too boot. Can't see the lights, can't see the switch and certainly can't climb back there
Going to be really frustrating and iffy with all the pump wiring and hoses in the way

My awning does the same. I had the motor replaced on extended warranty, worked great for six months same thing again. I would love to have a manual awning again.everyone I ask they say they love there electric awning, until I ask them. What they do in the rain? Same response you must not leave them in the rain or they will puddle.

Now that I cleaned the contacts and lubed everything it seems to be working ok for now.
The only small problem now is that the awning is not centered on the roller when rolled up all the way. Off about 4-6 inches to one side when up.
Any ideas?

I have rolled my awnings up in the rain with no problem. I do not know what problems others are having with the rain but mine go the same speed whether it is raining or not.

Smile Awning wouldn't retract

My awning went extended but would not retract. Seemed like low batteries but a meter check showed 12.5 VDC at the motor. We removed the motor and took it apart. It was mess inside due to moisture and corrosion. The commutator was glazed, the brushes stuck causing a voltage drop. After a thorough cleaning, and drying with the heat gun, we reinstalled. Works great. If you need a new motor, Google the part number on the motor. These units are auto window motors. I found mine on Amazon for $32, though it was not needed as our cleaning worked. Good luck
