A/C heater problems

does anyone know why would the generator stop working when I turn on a/c or heater on my 2001 allegro rv

Need more info
Is it roof or basement. Is it 30 or 50 amps. Is it a heat pump. Does it do it on shore power too. With out knowing this it is hard to tell you what's wrong. But taking a guess I would say the start compositor has died.

Damaris, when you say the generator stops working, do you mean the generator engine shuts down? Or do you mean you just loose power. If you just loose power, chances are y out have tripped the circuit breaker(s) on the generator itself.
