Start capacitor, but like majora says, replace all of them in both units and don’t get bit, make sure you drain them before removal. They will knock you on your azz.

Keep in mind that your generator is capable of producing 66 amps thru 2, 35 amp breakers.

The 2, 35 amp breakers feed a double 50 amp main panel breaker, which branch out to 2 individual 20 amp AC breakers.

There is the thermal breaker on the AC compressor that typically trips out before the 20 amp circuit breaker does, when the start capacitors are bad.

All of the components are there to protect the down stream wiring from overloading, yet your diesel engine, turning a 66 amp generator end, is stalling out.

You don't have an electrical issue, you have a generator power issue.

Keep us posted on the fix.

I had a similar problem like this. Sometimes when the rear AC started it would load down the gen until the gen died / shutoff. The hard start cap on the AC had a burned component on top of it so I replaced the cap assembly and no more problem.

Thanks to all

Settled in RV park now. Replaced both capacitors and that seems to have solved problem. Thanks to all who replied.
