A cry for advice a long way from home!

Well, the first tape arrived, The 4 X 50. I also ordered the double sided and I'm awaiting it's arrival. Time will tell the outcome and thank God the dry season has arrived. Not much rain here in the Springtime. I appreciate everyone's interest and advice. Now if I can mesh all of the advice together I should have a bang up job. For those who asked about pictures, once I fix it and clean the rig I'll post. For those who just want to know, the roads here are HELL! Most tax dollars go the way of the mafia so not much is done for infastructure. Yes, the mafia is not an urban legend. They are very much active here in Sicily and probably have been in some form or another for 300 years. The strong have always preyed on the weak. As an American I rarely see strong arming or "Pizza" money being collected (protection payments from merchants) but I do see lowest bid contracts that are about four times more expensive than in the States and I see many buildings that are stopped in mid construction because the owners didn't pay enough, or didn't pay the right people! It's all sad for the citizens and bizarre from an American perspective. It's a very hand to mouth existence.
Motor homes are not the buses we have in the States. Most are Camper types and are not owned, they are rented for a week or two. Parking is a big problem, as is the size of the roads. My rig is over thirty feet but it's skinny. It has a slide out which is very rare here, and in all of Europe in general. Many times I have come out of the motor home to find people gathering to look at the slider! They're amazed when I show then how it pulls in and pushes out. Quite the attention getter. We need to be careful as theft by stupidity is common. That is, If I leave it out, it's gone! I have an intrusion alarm on the doors, so if someone tries to get in while we're away it makes a hell of a lot of noise. If someone tries to get in while we're sleeping (which has never happened!) I have a BB pistol I'll beat them with Guns in any form are strictly against the law, unless you're a hardened criminal or the police. Very long prison sentences for carrying a weapon here.
I'll write more later about all of the good stuff. It's back to the war for me~

I just returned from Sigonella. I was there for a week this time. I to own a class c Motorhome and have had a few leaks. I agree etherbond is the best way to fix you problem. Make sure the repair area is clean and once this stuff is attached there is no way to get it off easily. Have fun in Italy but beware of the crazy roads, especially pulling a car up Mount Etna.

I have about 12 years in Sigonella then I retired from the navy in 2001. I cannot believe how much the place has changed in the last few years. Have fun.

Ah, Sigonella, the armpit of the Med. I don't know why it was when I had to travel all around that area, I seemed to always, very unfortunately, get stuck overnight/overweeked at that place.
