A Gas Generator in a Diesel Pusher?

I have been looking for a mid nineties decent diesel pusher and found one I liked, however, the pictures showed an Onan Gas Generator. Is that possible? Would some of these DP's have had a separate gas generator and a separate gas fuel tank?

I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this or if this is just someone who tried to fix a problem cheaply?

Diesel with a propane gen set, that , I've heard of.
Does the picture show the model number of the gen set ?
Can you lift the picture to post it here , or, provide a link to the ad ?

It was once common in the less expensive DPs to have a propane gas generator, which is cheaper than a diesel generator. You need to find a Country Coach like ours!

I actually saw a picture of the Onan Generator..it clearly says Gasoline on the generator tag....the diesel is clearly a diesel pusher....going to go visit it this weekend and see if I can figure out what they did.

Jt is possible that it is a converted gasoline to LP generator. back in the 90's deisel generators were not as quiet as they are today and more expensive so many builders used LP units. It would be extreamly unlikeley to find a rv that is duel fuel for engine and gen. I have also ofter seen dealers list Gassers as deisels. Either by mistake or some sort of weird bate and switch just to get your interest.

Could it be one of the rare gas pushers from the nineties?

Hard to fathom a coach that would have both gas and diesel. I can see a huge disaster waiting to happen

JMHO: If some one has Gerry rigged , the unit in that way , don't look any further, they've probably messed up the whole rig in one way or another.

Ive got a LP generator in a 96 safari DP and it works pretty good I would say it might use alittle more LP than a diesel or gas but Lp in my area is half price of either of the other two so all is good. I use Lp at home so when the truck comes to fill home tank I get him to fill RV as well. or get it at a campground if cheep enough.

My old Blue Bird was diesel but had a gas gen set, you'll find that some older entry level pusher coaches had LP gen sets. No unusual

Our first coach was a mid-90s Coachmen we bought used. First coach (and a weak sister on the road) and we knew very little about them at all. It had a Cummins 220 pusher engine and a gasser genset. The coach was 50 amp but I cannot recall the make of the generator. It worked very well but one had to think what he was doing when fueling both engines.
When we bought the first new coach in 2000 it was so good to have a much quieter generator and be able to use only one pump when fueling.

I have to say that even all my shopping for coaches, I never saw a gas generator in a diesel coach.

However, a lot of LP models are identical to gasoline models except for a few bits... perhaps the cover got damaged and it ended up with one with a gasoline label on it?

I looked at an older Xplorer 36' coach once, I think it was a 1988; it had a 5.9 Cummins DP and a gasoline generator. It looked factory installed since each fuel fill cap had the proper labels on them inside the fuel fill doors.
