A stupid newbie Weight question ...

Here is what I am sure is a stupid newbie question. But I'm confused. Here are the weight numbers for my soon-to-be new motorhome (with tag axle):

GVWR = 44,320 lbs.
GCWR = 59,320 lbs.

GAWR (front) = 14,320 lbs.
GAWR (rear) = 20,000 lbs.

How is it possible that the GAWR (front) plus GAWR (rear) is less than the GVWR? This implies I should only load my coach with 10,000 lbs. less than the stated GVWR. ??

Bill

You need to find the tag axle rating and add that to the axle ratings. The GVWR and GCWR take the tag axle rating into consideration.
Our rig has a GVWR of 54,000#'s and a GCVWR of 69,000#'s
Front axle rating of 20,000#'s
drive axle rating of 20,000#'s
tag axle rating of 14,000#'s

You're going to find the tag axle # is there to make up the difference , the coach probably weighs more than the two axles alone would carry.

Bill ; we were all new here once.

And the only stupid question , is the one you don't ask , that turns around and kicks you in the wallet.
