I doubt it as the MPG computer would be reading from the engine computer. A rule of thumb is 1 Gallon per hour for the genny on top of your MPG.

I believe the MPG on your dash info center is calculated fuel burn of the drive engine based on engine parameters is sees. In some cases, like I have seen with mine, you might show 0 MPG when going down hill and foot off the accelerator peddle. No bonus for free miles.

Just returned from 2,000 mile trip running gen first thousand miles. Computer on dash showed 8.8 miles per gallon for the trip. Generator fuel pump went out on the way back so did not use it. Computer still showed about 8.8-8.9 miles per gallon on the way back. Used my pencil and the odometer reading and calculated 7.0 miles per gallon.

When I compute my actual MPG, I deduct one gallon for each hour the gen has run and .4 gal for each hour the Aqua Hot has run.
