ABS indicator and Cruise Control dropping out

So yesterday I was happily cruising down the highway in my 2014 Forest River Charleston, with the Cruise Control on and set at 55 mph. All of a sudden, after 2 or 3 hours of driving like this, the following scenario occurred:
  • ABS indicator on the dash lit up
  • Cruise Control disengaged (with CC indicator on dash flashing rapidly)
  • All the dials (speedometer, RPM's, pressure gauges, etc.) froze wherever they were. Ie: speedometer stayed at 55 though we were obviously not
  • the small LED display (odometer, etc.) blanked out

The Motorhome continued to drive normally thank God - I could speed up or slow down, the brakes worked fine, and the turn signals operated. But the CC wouldn't reengage and the dials refused to budhge. Very unnerving - I tried not to panic as my brain imagined all kinds of disastrous reasons why this was happening.

Then all of a sudden as I was trying to decide what to do next, after 5 or 10 minutes, the dials all dropped to zero and started working again, the ABS went out, the LED display started up, and I could reengage the CC.

Everything back to normal. Weirdness. Any ideas what gremlins might be going on?

Thanks, Bill

Think you're on a Freightliner chassis, call the Freightliner help desk in Gaffney SC. This would be under warranty.

Could have any number of problems, something like a cabling bundling for engine control loosing ground or power. They'll walk you thru some debugging, or help you arrange service.

Always important to include as much info as you can , when posting to be sure you're getting answers that apply to your chassis and engine set up.

Freightliner help line ; have your serial number handy.
