AC on a Four winds Hurricane

My Hurricane has been idle a while (8 months) and in getting her ready, I pluged her into the household current to get the fridge cold and the ac checked out. I turned on the AC. the fan works perfect but the AC seemed to be in a bind. I shut it off. Tried it again and it worked fine. I left it running and then noticed it tripped a breaker in the house.
Reset the breaker and fired it up again to have it run for 10 minutes fine then sound like it was having trouble. The purr became a humm and the microwave digital time seemed to dim.
I then sghut it off and waited till this morning to try again when it was not 95 degrees out but a cooler 70. Same thing. Runs fine for a few minute. The humm changes to a strain. The Microwave lights dim to nearly gone. Then it trips.
Is this a power issue with the house and should be fine at a campground or is it an AC issue?
Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you have a bad bearing on the fan shaft. To verify you will need to get on the roof and remove the shroud. You should be able to turn the shaft easily by hand. If it turns hard or in a jerking motion then you need a new bearing. If the shaft turns freely have somebody turn on the A/C while your watching so you can pin point the problem.

Sounds more to me like a compressor problem. The head pressure builds up until the compressor can no longer overcome it and draws enough power to trip the breaker. This can come from an ice-up, or from an internal compressor failure.

May not have a big enough circut. If your using an extention cord I'd say thats your issue. I'd check that out first before I'd take it somewhere. If you have a generator disconnest the house power and see if it works on the gen.
