ACC Warranty - Invoicing me?

In my searching for a warranty on my new (to me) DSDP I requested quotes from multiple companies including ACC Warranty. Due to information gathered from these forums I decided not to use ACC and went with another company. So here is the surprising part...I just received an "invoice" from ACC with a link and info for how to pay. Now, I could look at it as just a marketing ploy but I don't. I see it as an attempt by this company to get me to pay an invoice for something I never purchased or to purchase something I did not intend to purchase. It isn't a purchase agreement. It is an invoice. You don't get an invoice unless you buy something.

I then got an email with my new account log in and other info like I had agreed to something. That just seems kind of shady to me in my opinion.

Anyone else have this same experience with ACC? Not looking to rehash some of the other issues already out there with ACC or other companies (cancelling coverage, etc) just wondering about this instance. Thanks!

Blind invoicing like that is an old scam. Scammers use it all the time on large companies, sending out thousands of vague invoices for less than $100 each, knowing that most companies won't audit such a small amount and will pay it without questioning it. It sounds to me like you gave ACC enough information to invoice you, so they did, figuring they didn't have anything to lose by trying.

I will be very interested in following this thread to see the outcome and replies... as I was actually thinking about going with them as one possible choice... that is if I decide to get an ESP. BTW Hambones, not to sidetrack your thread... but if you don't mind sharing... who did you go with and why? Thanks!

No worries - you don't have to buy anything you didn't agree to in writing, and you haven't bought anything if you don't pay for it. Ignore the invoice.

Just another shady business practice from ACC.

Copy machine supply companies used to call businesses, and ask whoever they could reach to provide the serial number and model of their copy machine, under the guise of updating their service records. Then send toner and such and of course the bill...

We had nothing but problems with ACC and would steer clear of them and their shady business practices. Good Sam has been very easy to work with.

The Indiana Attorney General is now taking formal action against ACC Warrenty. If you lost money on refunds or unsettled claims call the IN. AG office: Mark Snodgrass @ 317-234-6784

ACC Warranty Customers - Call Indiana Attorney General ASAP

To All Disgruntled/Dissatisfied ACC Warranty Customers:
On 9/2/2014, I called Mark Snodgrass at the Indiana Attorney General's office regarding our ability to be part of their case against ACC Warranty. Per Mr. Snodgrass, they filed the lawsuit against ACC Warranty 1.5-2 weeks ago.

However, due to so many people contacting the Indiana Attorney General's office since they filed the suit, Mr. Snodgrass said they will be amending the lawsuit to incorporate more people's claims. Therefore, you need to call Mr. Snodgrass, 317-234-6784, ASAP if you want to be part of this lawsuit.
