Adding different side mirrors

I need to buy new mirrors for my 1991 Holiday Rambler. The mirrors it currently has appear to be a Velvac 714178 and 714179. These mirrors are no longer available (at least I sure can't find them). How hard would it be to install a different set of mirrors? Is it as simple as removing the inside door panel and drilling new mounting holes?

You could always try a used set. May even fit you mounting holes perfectly.

My first guess is there is a reinforcement bracket behind the mirror mount.

What I don't know is: How many different mounting patterns are there?

Good luck

Have you checked eBay? Just did a quick search for "motorhome mirrors" and the velvac products came up.

Is it the remote control motors or the actual mirrors that have failed? Any good glass installer can cut and make new mirrors. The rest is more difficult. If you are needing to replace the whole arm and head, I suggest you start by checking for access to the back side of the mounting arm. It might be easy or very difficult to get to the bolts holding arm to the side of the RV.
