Adding oil

New MH owner. Dip stick says we need to add oil. When we try to add, it runs back out of the hole. When we look inside, the oil is just sitting in there, not draining down into the oil compartment. Using a standard funnel. Should we have longer hose? Thanks

What MH or engine ?

Are you pouring it in the dipstick hole? There is a bigger cap to pour oil in.

This, without a doubt, is the strangest issue I've seen or read about on here. What hole are you talking about that it "runs back out of"???
And yes, what coach/make/model/year/engine etc.

It sounds like to me that you are sticking the funnel down into the pipe tightly so that no air can come back out. Pull the funnel a little ways out so that air can escape.

3rd on PO using the dipstick hole! Did the coach come with any manuals? They should clearly show where to check the fluids, and where to ADD the fluids. If you don't have the manuals, post on this forum what year/make/model your coach is and someone can probably supply the information you need! And Welcome to the forum.
