advice needed

We just listed our recreational acreage and house for sale, and intend to full time once it sells, I am looking to buy a class a diesel somewhere in the 1998 to 2002 age range, Beaver, country coach, alpine, one of the better quality coaches, I plan on doing some remodeling once we pull the trigger and make a purchase. The coach will be used by just my wife and me exclusively, all that said would I be able to take out the couch and replace it with to wall hugger recliners, such as lazyboy or similar. Also the tv will be moved to across the coach from the recliners, and put in a cabnet that can be raised and lowered. To be used mainly during collage basketball seasons. GO CATS. Thanks in advance for your input.

Do not jump the gun and do a good research. We bought a 98 Monaco that had been well taken care of. That being said i am doing some upgrades to the water system ( new dual water filters ) and new pressure tank. Also had a EMS-HW50C by Progressive installed to protect the electrical system. Going to get the front wheel bearings changed over to a oil bath bearing system.Replaced the old satellite dish setup with a new DISH Tailgater.

1. Check tire dates on the tire to see how old they are
2. Is the refrig just electric or is it LP and electric ? I prefer dual setup
3. Check for water leak stains on the ceiling and in the cabinets.
4. Go on the roof and check the various units to see if they are still caulked and water tight.
5. Look at the maintenance records if there are any and see if the necessary filters and oils have been changed regularly.
6. Pull the battery tray out and check dates on them. Look for corrosion also.

We are learning this big curve as this was the first rv we have owned !! Don't be afraid to ask questions, as this forum is loaded with very helpful rv'ers who will share their knowledge.

We took the couch out of our Beaver and had a trundle bed made for the kids. I also took the chair out and put dual recliners from camping world. Swing down TV in front is a pain at times and we may also put a TV across from chairs behind the Trundle beds that turn into a couch in the daytime. Good luck, Beavers are fine coaches and, in my opinion, unequaled by anything less than very high end CC or Prevost coaches.
