Smile Advice on purchasing new Class A

We are looking for a 2015 Class A gas. We have narrowed it down to 5 that we are considering. Fleetwood Southwind 36L, Fleetwood Bounder 36E, Forest River Georgetown XL 369DS, Thor Challenger 37KT, and Winnebago Vista 36Y. Our biggest concern is Horsepower. We want to go up hills/mountains at Yellowstone, Utah, West Virginia and such. Not continuously of course but on a trip or two. Can anyone offer advice to which if any would be best in this scenario? Any other opinions would be welcome of these models as well.... thank you, alfur

In all likelihood they all have the Ford V-10 power train. That being the case, shorter and less weight will provide more power. Since they all appear to be approximately the same length, and nearly same weight, not sure there is a standout as far as climbing hills so floor plan and build quality are probably more germane to a decision as well as the dealer history and customer care.

You could also visit each of the forums for the manufacturer on this site and obtain more information on the individual coaches.

Have you also looked at any of the Newmar coaches?

Also, the "new" 2013/2014 models may still have the 5 speed trans where the 2015 models (most) have the 6 speed trans.

Hills won't be a problem even towing.

Are you saying the 2015 Ford F53 Class A motor home chassis comes with a 6 speed tranny?

We just purchased a 2015 Itasca Sunstar and the trans is still the 5 speed auto.

Doesn't mean a thing as the chassis could still be a 2014 chassis. The vehicle must, by Federal law, be registered by what the "complete vehicle" (RV manufacturer in this case) says the model year is.
When the downturn hit you could find two and maybe even three year old chassis under new rigs.

Huh? Ford's own website shows the 2015 F53 with a 5 speed. No 6 speed mentioned.
