Age of New Tires

Hello All...

I am getting ready to replace my tires and my tire guys just emailed me that the new tires will have a DOT Stamp (born on date) of 4015.

According to my calculations they are just over 4 months old.

Does that seem reasonable or since age of tires is so important to so many should I get some that are even newer?

What is reasonable when it comes to the born on date of a new tire?

Thanks!

Those are fine. If the dates were over 6 months old, then perhaps you could ask to get other ones.

Lots of tires are only made once a year since it's expensive to change the line for different sizes, especially truck or MH tires. That's why it's sometimes hard to find a specific size when you need/want them. They estimate how many they will need for the entire year and sometimes they don't make enough (shortage time) and other times too many (so older still on shelves)
