Air Horns

I currently have my air horns working off a aux switch on the dash. Question can I move them to the steering wheel where the old horns are? Horns are on a 2003 Pheaton motorhome.

I would say Yes. Not knowing how each of your horns are wired you could find the 12V wire that powers your old original horns. Tap into that and install a relay and power the solenoid air valve that activates the air horns. You may want to install a switch in that line to enable you to shut off the air horns to be able to use you horns in a area you don't need or want air horns. You could use your existing switch for that purpose but you would need to rewire. Just my thoughts. I am not a Tech.

Isn't there a Horn switch on the drivers side panel? Our 03 Phaeton had one and when it was off, only the automotive horn would work. When turned on, both the auto and air horns worked from the steering wheel.

I am with crasher my 05 allegro bus has a switch that turns the air horns off and on. They are activated by the horn switch on my steering wheel. If you do not have the switch it is relatively easy to modify. Find the solenoid that operates the air horn. hook a relay in parallel to that control wire. Power the wire in parallel through a relay. run a wire from the regular horn to the relay.

The were after market installed by Camping World they use a vacant aux switch wired to the solenoid that's tied into the air valve in the front compartment. So if I find the old horn hot wire and run it to the solenoid that should work?

should work.

Make sure the solenoid wire coming from the aux switch is 12volts sometimes you apply 12 volts to a relay and the switch controls the neutral. Same for horn make sure the wire going to the horn is 12 volts if the horn only has one wire that will be 12 volts for sure.
