Air Leak Detection

Anyone have experience with Ultrasonic Leak Detectors? Successful Leak Detection Using Ultrasonics

I am interested in getting one for finding air leaks in the coach pneumatics and air conditioning refrigerant leaks in vehicles and houses. I also have an elusive air leak in my shop pneumatic piping that no amount of soap has found.

Friend uses one in a factory and swears by it but it is a multi thousand dollar unit. I'm not needing one enough to spend that much and wonder about the ones for under a grand.

I haven't used that particulal one but it did look interesting. The one I had in my shop was a Snap-On. Worked great for vacuum leaks and the occasional air leak around the shop. I had a Sniffer for the refrigerant leaks. I decided that when I needed to spend big dollars on test gear because cars were becomming compterized I would just go back to school and start working on computers. Much cleaner job.
