air valve for engine brake

Mechanic says air valve for engine brake is leaking air. He is looking for a replacement. 95 Monaco Windsor, Roadmaster 8 air bag suspension, Cummins B5.9. EL01SA459B065N is number on part. Any ideas about where I might find? Thanks

Ok . Did the mechanic give you the brand name for your EXHAUST brake .

Engine brakes have hydraulic controls under the engine valve cover and were never installed on a Cummins 5.9.

Pac Brake and Jacobs , both supply exhaust brakes to chassis manufacturers.

So knowing the brand will speed up your search.

I'm thinking the part you need is an air cylinder ( pneumatic actuator )

Yep,
Skip's got it, especially since it's the ONLY "air valve" in the operation of that exhaust brake. Should be easy to locate one.

It may be the quick release valve. It goes between the actuator and the air control solenoid.

Send a message via ICQ to Ivylog
I would rebuild the air cylinder...could be as simple as new O Rings.

In ours, there's the exhaust brake activation valve that's triggered by a solenoid, a dump valve, and the actual air piston.

We had to replace the solenoid valve last year because the solenoid developed a ground fault and it had a slow leak. It was a PAC Brake C11935 and cost about $75 after shipping.

Visited shop and coach this morning. Found service record from 1996. Part replaced at that time. Picture of part that is leaking. Solenoid C11829. We will see. Thanks for all the help.

If you're still trying to find the part, here it is: Pacbrake C11829

I got my replacement solenoid from CPPDiesel.com, too. Different part, but they had it in stock, had the best price, and got it to me quickly.
