Alfa see ya?

Like what i see with these rigs, but having never owned one would like peoples opinion of them.

We also liked them but at the time we purchased, they were an orphan and Monaco #1 hadn't gone under. Also most all Alfa's have a single basement air that we were dead set against...

The last Alfas had an epidemic of sidewall delamination - one factor that led to the company's demise.

You might want to Google Alpha See Ya clubs, there is one that heads to Tucson almost every year, and see what turns up. I did this same sort of thing when we were looking as neophytes for our first MH. I was able to e-mail some members of the clubs associated with the brand I was interested in, and the comments actually helped me make what I believe was a good decision. Good luck in your search.

An orphan is an RV where the manufacturer is no longer in business. Hence, parts can be impossible to find. Monaco #1 was when Monaco filed for bankruptcy. Single basement air means just that, Alphas had basement air units which are questionable at best and one definitely would not cut it on a 40 footer. You need two ACs.

I looked at them when they were still in production. They looked OK when you first walked in but if you looked at the cabinets and pulled some of the drawers out you could see where they cut corners to keep the price point. And it was an Alfa Gold I was looking at too.
Just wasn't interested after that.

My basement airs cools my 40 footer just fine and isn't half as noisy as two rooftop AC's.

Don't mean to offend anyone, but they were cheaply made. We looked thoroughly at many coaches before we purchased ours. The Alfa's had a lot of gizmos and gimmicks, but that was it.

I wish I did not have to agree - but I do. I entered a raffle to win one years back that was in Motorhome Magazine. Went to see one at RV show. Was actually glad to have $100 charitable deduction and not to have had to pay taxes on a win. I would have taken the cash. And seriously - I wish this were not true. It looked great on paper - in pictures - just didn't live up to expectations.

they had some unique features and floorplans, but they definitely had some quality issues. Stuff like delamination, especially of the storage compartments (which weren't bus-style, but rather the cheaper exposed piano-hinge style). They tried to build them with a small company mentality, which was nice....but it just didn't work.
