Alfa SeeYa Founder - Adding a Splendide Washer

I recently purchased a 2005 Alfa Founder Edition and found a used Splendide Washer/dryer for sale. The Splindide is the same model that was installed as an option in new units a model 2000 WD802. After removing the false panel in the bathroom closet I found power and hot and cold water for the washer, However I did not find an exhaust hose or connection for the dryer exhaust. There is a removable panel above the washer that is positioned at the dryer air outlet. Does this mean I need to cut a hole in the wall of the RV and install an exhaust?

Anyone added a washer/dryer after purchase? Any comments welcome

Ken, I believe the WD802 is a vented model and therefore will require you to cut hole for the vent. Here is the data sheet for that model:

Splendide, of course, makes a ventless model but for RV use, the vented models work much better as the exhaust is vented to the outside. A ventless model in an enclosed RV isn't good ...and the drying function takes forever and is extremely inefficient. In fact, it's almost like not having a dryer function at all it's so inefficient.

If the factory had installed the Splendide when new, it would have already had a flexible metal duct and a vent to the outside cut. You'll now have to do it yourself.

Don't forget the drain pan under the unit. Has saved me several times.

The drain pan is also quite helpful for cleaning the pump of debris. We didn't put one in our last 5er,and I had a difficult time cleaning the pump/lint filter/button catcher without getting water on the carpeting.
