You will seldom find a 3rd AC on a 40 foot coach, but since the Allegro Bus is a higher level coach they included it. For example a 43 DP Allegra Bus is at $440K price point whereas the 43 DP Dutch Star is at $390K price point. (Prices are approx.)

In my experience ALL coaches require their share of repairs. Do not let the Tiffin haters convince you of the need to travel to Red Bay often. It just ain't true in the vast majority of cases. Yes, many do go there, but it is definitely not necessary.

Also am surprised the DS doesn't have a 3rd AC.
You don't usually get a 3rd a/c until the length exceeds 40 ft. Tiffin is one of the few who offer it, but I thought it was on the 40 footer but not the 37'.

I think three a/c is worthwhile on a 40, but the primary reason is better air dispersal rather than more btus. With a sufficiently good duct system, two may be sufficient.

If you're going to be towing a bunch of toys, then the hitch rating will be a factor. As for three ACs, the Dutch Stars do have them on the floor plans over 40ft.

"Gary".....I didn't realize it until I bought the coach, but yes, the 40' with tag will turn sharper than a 40' without a tag (both having the same wheel cut). Here's why.....on a 40' with a tag, the drive axle is pushed farther forward than a non tag coach. This makes for a shorter wheelbase (front axle to drive axle). My 40' Dutch Star turns at least 5'-7' tighter than my 36' DP.
