Does anyone know where in the greater Chicago area I could get my aluminum wheels polished properly? By that I mean removal of the wheel, polish, and then re-install wheel and torque to proper specifications.

I just finished polishing my wheels, and while they look pretty good, I realize that there are areas that can only be reached when the wheel is off the coach. So, I figure that if I get a "proper" polish once, I could keep it up myself for a couple of years before it's time for a pro job again. Any help or suggestions appreciated.

They told me never to polish the wheels on mine as they are coated and not to remove the coating. I was told once you polish them and remove the coating, they have to be repolished every 6 months or so.

Mine must have already had the protective coating off them because when TCI Tire Center replaced my tires, they stained the heck out of my Alcoa rims. Claimed they only used neutral bead-seating liquids but that was BS. I used a can of Mother's polish and 2-hours of elbow time just to get one wheel cleaned up. Like shanwick said, it's impossible to get to all the area with the wheels mounted.
