annual registration fees

I am about to upgrade from a $15,000 class a to a $150,000-$200,000 diesel pusher. I live in florida. Any ballpark on what the annual license and registration will be? Also, insurance based on your experience? thx

My registration was 117 this year. My insurance with Allstate is about 1400. It was about 800 the first year. I do have one ticket about 3 years ago on my record. I live near Orlando.

Insurance is dependent on a lot of things...county, RV value, credit rating, tickets or accidents, but for Polk County and a lesser value than what you're buying, our insurance is $978.00 with Hartford. It was cheaper, but we had an "incident" last summer with a sizable claim, so our rate went up. Hartford was great to work with. No hassles at all. Annual registration is around $85.00-$90.00.

IF you do not have a Florida plate to transfer it was $400 for each of our vehicles. The annual registration is now around $100. In Calif it was $1600 and more.

We use progressive because AAA does not sell rv insurance directly in Florida.

Here is SC the registration is like $59. for two years, BUT, we have property tax that in round numbers is $2,200. per year per $100,000. value, and it never goes away, just slightly reduced (2.5%) per year roughly.

Value has no effect on Florida title and registration fees, and there is no property tax on vehicles either.

Recreational vehicles over 4500 lbs pay $47.50 year. Period. In other words, your registration costs remain the same.

Assuming you maintain collision and comprehensive coverage, insurance costs will increase dramatically to reflect the greatly increased value (the amount the insurer has at risk). Liability costs should remain the same unless you change the availability limits.

I'm sure that is not the case! I checked my FL registration before I posted and it cost me 117 for the year for a 40 ft class A DP. There must be some variables that cause the costs to change..

In Arizona, the registration on our 2013 DP was $2850 this year. The full coverage insurance from Allstate is about $1400/yr.

I don't like paying either of these things, but life is short so if you want to play, you gotta pay.

According to the link in post #9 , you should be paying $58.85 a year. Is the $117 you're paying possibly for 2 years. My Fl registrations are for two years.

I'm looking at my registration, and I paid $74.35 for 1 year. $3.00 of that is a county fee, so the base charge is $71.35.

It will be cheaper next time you renew. If tag fee was reduced, but if you paid in advance, tough luck!

Cliff is right - the page I referred to for my previous post was out of date. But it is "motorhome, living unit, 4500 Up" and has nothing to do with value.
