Another front tire blow out...

If you are interested I might know where there is a good deal on a coach. I think it is about a 2004 model. We are friends with the man that owns it. He wanted to be a full timer with his wife so they bought the unit and sold their home. The unit had a new floor when he bought it two years ago and then they added a bunch of upgrades. winegard traveler. New inverter and automatic generator start, solar power went from 4 house batteries to 6 all new trojan batteries. They went in one trip with it spent the summer on the east coast. They went to texas to winter and she unexpectedly passed away from a brain aneurism. He tried staying in another year but he said without her he did not want to travel any more. He spent a lot of money in upgrades but he is aware he is going to lose quite a bit on the deal. if you are interested I will put you in touch with him.

Dang sorry to here we had a passenger front blow but was able to keep under control only did $7000 in damage. I'm sure it was a scary ride glad y'all are ok.

I don't know the circumstances but if anyone is running on old tires you ARE running on borrowed time and it could be your life. I know from experience 4K,5k, 6k is a lot of money for a set of tires we try to save by saying they look good but it is our life don't have a blow out to get woke up.

Everyone needs to be aware that tires that look good may not be due to age. Rvers don't wear out tires, we change them because of age. Also a 4 corner weigh is so important so you get the correct pressures. We have added a steering stabilizer to ours, hope never to test it, but it is suppose to help control in the case of big bumps and blow outs.

When the dust settles, it would help all of us to know the details...road conditions (type surface, condition, wet/dry, etc), speed, cruise on/off, tire size/brand/age/tire pressure, control ability of the coach (hit guardrail?), and anything else that would help the rest us in our travels.

We had a RF blow out last May on I 55 south of Chicago...not fun, but minimal damage.

Yes, please have you and your husband sit down at the computer in a couple of weeks and post all the details. Did you have a TPMS? Was there any warning at all?

You have just survived one of the big fears of most motorhomers. A catastrophic tire failure of a steer tire with no warning. What was your speed? We're the fur kids freaked out?

We were traveling that area yesterday also. We crossed under the turnpike on state route 70 at Fort Pierce at around noon.

Yes, we bought it around thanksgiving and brought it back to Jersey at Christmas. Worked on it to get it where we wanted it. Only a few more things to do when we got back. I agree...Totally sucks!

Yes, they were pretty freaked out, doing fine though now. Think we were going around 60.

There was no warning. We actually bought a Safe T Plus , was the next thing we were doing when we returned from vacation. I made him buy it as I'm extremely paranoid ...unbelievable...

One never knows how the previous owner cared for his tires.
