Have had DP's since 2000, have never gotten a bad fill up.

Much prefer the DP to a gas unit and it's hard to get a 41' triple slide gas unit! If all we planned on doing was being a snow bird and sitting in one place for 6 months a DP would be overkill and a gas rig would do just fine and be cheaper to buy. Since I do all my own maintenance the cost of the DP over a gas rig is about the same, plus I know the work is done correctly.

The only thing I can add is, if you go to Mom & Pop type gas stations, you are bound to get a bad tank of diesel. It goes bad faster than gasoline does. If you choose diesel, try and always get it on the highway from a name brand.

My 2 cents. 2002 3852 with a 330 cat. Have averaged 7.4 over 69000 miles. I have owned it for the last 8000 miles and the mileage is improving. We drive to NC mountains at least once a month and get 7 going up and 8.5 going home to Augusta Ga. I can bank on the 7.4 for calculating fuel cost at about 65 mph. Safe travels to all.

The 3852 is a Newmar Dutchstar. Oops. Need to read what I type! LOL. Too many kids I guess.

I have an 04 Bounder 35 foot gasser with the vortec 8.1. we did 6500 miles cross country at various speeds and finished with an average of 7.3 mpg. we now tow a kia rio on a dolly total weight of 3000 additional pounds and we are averaging 6.8 to 7.0 mpg. As posted earlier, that vortec is a beast and not a thirsty one either. I don't see me getting a DP anytime soon.
