Another Reason Not To Drive In The Snow & Ice

Getting out of the windshield is bad enough but it takes a lot of work to get the windshield out in the first place, not to mention a simple slide off gets expensive not only for the removal but for repairs as well

My apologizes I did not mean to convey this was my RV.

Goodness. I hope you were not hurt. We live in Bishop CA and near Mammoth Mountain I saw several MH over Christmas camping near 8 foot drifts. Now I know why we NEVER drive in snow. Thanks for the wake up call.

John tough way to go. Hopefully the only damage was to the rig and that everyone is OK. Where were you, on M-28 towards the Soo?

My apologizes for lack of communication skills this is not mine which is locked away under cover for the winter, I just do towing and recovery work, which this is not a job I did but it was passed along to me this evening.

Yes, I hope they were all OK. Definitely not worth driving in poor weather conditions.
But here is also a case for the question of having a drivers side door or not.

Thumbs up Driving in the Snow

Nice job by the wrecker operator.. I didn't notice any straps or cables anywhere but under the chassis. Slid it right up.
Now the passenger's side is another story, what a mess.

Wow! That's why I like having a drivers exit door on mine, I have two ways out if need be. Also notice the right rear wheels.. ugh, looks like a broken axle housing too. Hopefully everyone walked away.

Yes! I hope everyone walked away & they are some scary looking photos. As mentioned, kudos to the wrecker operators on a perfect job. I've done alot of off-road recovery thru the years, but little Jeeps are certainly different from "Big Red" there.

That was a fantastic salvage job. If you don't do that right then they flip over even more. Keeping them upright is a big challange.

Don't coaches have an emergency exit window on both sides?

Gotta remember not to consider buying a particular used gray Allegro offered at a low price.

Most coaches do indeed have emergency exits scattered about.

Windshields set in place, they are designed to be pushed out if you know where and how to push. HOWEVER that said.. The windshield in this coach is GLUED in place so it would nto be as easy to push out.

Mine does. It would have been a lot less residual damage from snow inside the coach going through the emergency window.

Looks like snow was inside past the front seats and pretty thick. Looks like as much of a clean-up and repair inside as out when it's said and done. The main thing is nobody was hurt hopefully.

Excellent recovery process! I used to operate tow trucks for a few years and you see more tricky situations than you can imagine.
