Antifreeze in hot water heater

Think I Just screwed up. Did not set by-pass and added anti-freeze into hot water heater. Question-leave it alone and flush out in spring or try to clean out now?

When time to drain it, try to catch it. I recycle mine, sometimes I winterized two or three times a year if we decide to use the rig during the winter. I use new antifreeze in the lines each time, but I use recycled for traps, drains, and black and gray tanks.

I thought I read you will never get the flavor out of the water heater.

Depends upon the person doing the flushing and how.

After de-winterizing or chlorination I use Sodium Bicarbonate to de-taste final clean.

To be safe,I would DRAIN the water heather now, then set the bypass and run some more antifreeze for the Hot line only.
How much antifreeze is in the water heather??,how full is it ???

You'll have some propylene glycol (pink antifreeze) taste in the water in the spring for a bit anyway. It usually takes a couple of tanks of water to get the taste out of our system each year. I wouldn't worry about the AF in the hot water heater this year. Recycling the AF is a good idea.

I don't see where it would hurt to leave the antifreeze in until next year. I like the idea of Recycling the antifreeze.
