X 4or5 on the Terro liquid bait. The white powder is probably cleanser powder, like Old Dutch, which contains Boric Acid in powder form. Easier/better/cheaper to just buy Boric Acid powdered Roach (ant) killer at HD--Hot Shot is one brand name. It can be dusted anywhere kids/pets cannot get to it, such as behind appliances, under sinks, and I use it liberally in the motorhome basement. Any food items down there are in plastic bins. In basement, I also hang Shell No Pest strips and religiously change them out. Seems to work for us right up until under attack by ants and then we pull out the Terro liquid bait and put a couple drops on a small piece of cardboard or thick paper and place that near the line of ants coming/going. They seem to love it and swarm all over it. Next day they are gone. We pulled into a campsite behind a motel in Florida and I literally watched the ants travel up our power cord shortly, and I mean shortly after plugging in. The ants were present in the pedestal and immediately went on 'safari' as soon as anyone plugged in. Pretty smart for such 'dumb' little creatures. Anyway, our method seems to work pretty well as we have no roaches and few other critters until we meet up with predators waiting for us. Then the Terro takes care of business. This seems to happen about once a season.
