Any Specific Experiences with SAFECO Insurance??
My agent came to me with a quote from Safeco that was ~$300 less than Progressive. I have not had any problems with Progressive, but have no experience or information on Safeco.
Anyone out there have specific experience/recommendations regarding SAFECO before I jump on a lower price (that might have hidden costs or frustrations)??
Thanks....

We are fulltimers - 2014 Thor Palazzo 33.3 bunkhouse
and I'm a Safeco Agent running my agency from my
motorcoach...
I'll say two things concerning your concerns:
-Safeco will give you the best customer service you
will ever see, even compared to others, like PRO
(I'm also a Progressive agent)
-I don't have my own motorcoach coverage with
either SAF or PRO, I found better coverage
with BlueSky, who are specialists in the RV
market, especially for fulltimers, and were
half the cost

MisterT: I have a quote from BlueSky which looks pretty good to me -- but it is for a SafeCo policy. Are you saying that BlueSky will underwrite some of their own policies? Confused, Thanks! \ken

Yes I am a safeco customer. I am extremely satisfied with them. AS the safeco agent said they will give great customer service. I have filed several claims for various fender benders and have never had any problems at all. They give me a choice of which body and shop repair station I want to use. I use one that is an authorized safeco station. I drive it in they look at it make an appointment to fix it. I take it back and leave it to get fixed. i never had to even see an appraiser.
If you get MH insurance with them. Make sure you get the glass policy. It covers all of your vehicles glass on one policy. 100.00per year and no deductible. For your MH you really want that. I just had the windshield on my pickup replaced with it and I never paid a penny got great service.
I dont work for them Just have all of my vehicles and my home insured with them.
On the other hand I do not really like progressive.

BlueSky is basically an insurance agency, though they specialize in RV insurance and
deal with many companies, including companies you may have never heard of - mine happens to be with RLI(the actual insurance company), but managed by Recreation Insurance Specialists(an insurance Brokerage). Confusing, but in the end it's only really about the price, coverage, and claims paying ability.
Of course, they also deal with the Safeco's and Progressive's of the world, and probably others like NationalGeneral(old GMAC), Foremost, etc.
Generally, an agent like BlueSky will try to 'cross quote' your RV with several, if not all, of their insurers, and give you the quote for what they think is the best for your needs.
As someone else mentioned, if you choose Safeco, ask for their '$0 Deductible' Glass Comprehensive Coverage. If you have any glass damage(repairable) or glass replacement, it would be at no cost to you, and SafeLite will come directly to where you are parked to provide the service. nice.

I have SAFECO on my 14 Anthem. I'm happy with them. Cost me 1/3 of what Progressive wanted.

I am currently comparing insurance quotes for full-timing. I asked my SAFECO agent about the glass policy and learned [unfortunately] that it is now only available though SAFECO in three states (AZ, SC, and FL, I believe). Bummer! \ken

MisterT: Thank you for this. I think the reason that BlueSky quoted me SAFECO and not RLI is that I am not a full-timer yet. Whence we sell the S&B the agent tells me that it will be more favorable for us to move to a BlueSky policy. Appreciate the explanation. \ken

Have had Safeco on our 2 autos for several years. Been rear ended twice in my f-150, and excellent service for claims and repairs at local ford dealer. No complaints. Having said that, our MH purchased last October insured by Blue Sky (RLI). Am currently pricing Blue Sky for the autos as Safeco renewal is due in April. Appears I can save almost $300 if I switch.

Not sure that is correct. I live in Arkansas and just had a new windshield replaced under the safeco glass policy on 3/23/2015 Paid zero dollars to have it installed.
Let me tell you an interesting story. My first safeco agent told me that safeco did not have a glass policy. A few years later after he had told me some stuff that was not accurate I changed Insurance agents. When i went to insure the MH I mentioned to my current agent how much i missed the glass policy my previous before safeco insurance company had. The new agent informed me that they had a policy and there had been one for several years. Moral of this story. Call Safeco direct and ask.

Thanks, gemini5362 ... I will do that. Prolly not a good idea to trust an agent whom I have never met and whose primary objective is to keep his quote as competitivly priced as possible. \ken
