Anyone help today? Windshield coming off!

Anyone happening to read this know who to contact for a windshield coming off?? One side has separated from the frame and there is a gap all the way on the side, part of the top and starting at the bottom. We were going to call a freight liner dealer tomorrow but not sure if that is the right place - Any suggestions????? We are 3000 miles from home (oh and have a 14 month old baby)

You need to call or go to your vehicle manufacturer, all Freightliner did was supply the chassis if you have a Freightliner chassis.
I don't think the baby had anything to do with the windshield coming out.

2007 Gulf Stream Sun Voyager. The windshield has actually shifted away from the passenger side (two glasses for windshield) so we think it has to be reset back into frame or however they do it? Worried it is not just an easy repair -(think 8389 model number front end diesel)

Try RV Glass 888-777-6778
Www.rvglassexperts.com
I talked to them at the FMCA in Indy and liked the program just for situations like you are in.

Thanks Mr_D - I don't think the baby had any blame in this one either; however, I would like to end up at the right place since we do have her to consider dragging around. I just was not even sure if I call an auto glass company (though the glass has shifted 1-2 inches off frame so don't think they can help??), a camping world rv repair type place, freight liner, mobile repair, or something else so was just hoping to get directed in right way.

Based on you saying there is a 1 - 2 inch gap between the glass and the w/s frame I would go to a truck body shop. The glass didn't shrink and sounds like the frame has expanded. Perhaps a frame weld has broken. The glass will need to be removed so a repair can be made to the frame. keep your fingers crossed that they can remove the glass without breaking it.

Good luck friend. Our Monaco has been doing that for 3 years, maybe 10 times. It was replaced as a condition of sale (we bought used) and doesn't fit. Lucky for us we bought from a Camping World dealer and they have stuck with us through the whole mess. They are doing everything possible to make it right. Thanks Grumbines RV and Marcus Lemonius!

That is very scary. I think a good windshield repair shop could help. I'm very curious about the Monaco Diplomat, what year is it? My HR Endeavor could have the same thing happen. It definitely is a body issue, Unless a wrong size windshield was used. One piece of advice, DON'T level it with your jacks until the repairs have been made.

Had the same thing happen to us, had a high pitched whistle at speed. Lazy Days found no sealant on either side of the windscreen. They pulled each side, sealed, and reinstalled. No more problems. Should be an easy fix at any good shop.

Thanks everyone! We had horrible wifi in Canada do was waiting til hit US again to reply. Ended up calling the replacement glass number in post above, someone came out and after a few hours had it somewhat back in groove and revealed. Said prior owner must have had issue as windshield was glued in... Also said frame a little too big for windshield so while this is a good fix, we are likely to have issue again. Will call gulfstream when trip is over to find out why frame cut bigger than windshield and if any fixes.
Thanks again!!!

Prior Owner may have had it replaced and the replacement is too small, just as MickBrennan above..

Windshield also falling out!

We are in Sioux Falls, SD with the windshield of our 2007 Safari Simba coming loose - this is the 2nd time its happened. Had it repaired first by Camping World in Kissimmee, FL last year. Seems that every time we auto-level or travel really rough roads (I90 in Illinois and Indiana) hubby has to climb up and re-caulk it just so we don't get rain-water on the dash. When we stopped here yesterday we noticed about a 2 inch gap and the windshield was flapping in the breeze. The glass is a very large one piece wrap-around type. Safari was bought out by Monaco a few yrs ago so there is no going back to manufacturer. "Super Fast Auto Glass" is coming to the KOA where we are camped to do repairs tomorrow.
