Anyone Know, What is this?

Cleaning today, and found this under the sleeper couch, it is about 24 inches long, a metal rod runs through the middle with plastic ends and a foam exterior.

Looks too well made to not have a purpose.

I have no idea but if I were to venture a guess, it's probably part of the Rockwell Turbo Encapsulator discussed here. (It stabilizes the dingle arm)

How about a Thingy that when you put a cover on a sofa and tuck it in between the back and seat you would slide it down and the foam would help prevent the cover from pulling out.???????????

"As Seen On TV". A gonkulator with a throzzel rod going through the center.

It does look familiar, but I can't quit place it. Maybe part of something to massage your back.
