Anyone pull a small travel-trailer with their DPusher?
Thinking of adding one for a few years when we have the teenager in the household to give him space away from the rest of us.
Someone gave me the idea in a thread and I am revisiting it now.
It would solve a lot of our floorplan issues

A moderate 20' TT would be decent. Just need a joiner for the 2 sewer pipes. Most places have a 50 and 30 amp hookups on the pole however, some campgrounds may want to charge you for a second site.
We always have a tent in one of the storage bays. We also have a portable AC we could bring along if needed.

I think that's a great idea. I also wouldn't mind paying the extra site fee because I would want the trailer in its own site.

Travel trailer
Last 3 years have pulled jayco 23 ft expendable travel trailer for daughter and her family with tiffin phaeton and now entegra.
20 k miles pulling jayco for daughter. Before trailer pulled pop up behind dp for daughter .
Worked great. Total length right at legal limit. Not much effect on fuel mileage.
Just sold jayco last week and daughter getting powered rv.

I towed my son's 20' AirStream TT behind my 40' DP. I got pull through sites most of the time and usually did not disconnect the trailer. All worked fine. His tow vehicle was in an accident a couple of days before our trip and it was out of commission, so he drove our Escalade which could have towed the TT OK but I do not have a brake controller on the Escalade so we elected to tow the trailer behind the RV. When we needed to park the trailer at a different site or for dumping, we most often hooked it to the Escalade for local movement but not on the highway without the brakes working.
It was an easy tow behind the 40' DP. But backing up was a challenge as I recall. Did most of that with the Escalade.

There shouldn't be any problem. You see DPs with race car trailers on them all the time and they have no problems. Go for it!

Yes, know folks who do this. TT used as hobby room, etc.

What is the length limit?
I have a 37' coach. How long of a trailer could I legally pull?
I have a 2012 Forest River 25' Grey Wolf toy hauler that weighs 4650 lbs. Is that too long?

From what I know, the combined legal length varies from 60' to 70' - It depends on the jurisdiction. I was just about 65' with my sons Airstream on and I went through some states with a 60' limit. Never had any issues.

I'm sure it's doable. Watch out for max. length requirements. Most are 65 feet total length (includes tow bar).
What would you do for shopping excursions, sightseeing, etc.? Towing the TT behind your DP makes it impractical to have a toad.
