Are captains chairs specific to a brand or is there a jobber/supplier?

I was thinking with the relatively low production volumes perhaps the seats or their components are shared amongst various coach builders like fridges and stoves. Anyone?

I've been researching RV captains chairs recently. you are correct. The two main suppliers are Villa International in southern CA and Flexsteel in Iowa. There are others, but these are the main ones.

You can't buy them direct from Flexsteel. I just bought 2 Flexsteel 559's from RV Furniture, Boat Furniture, Flexsteel, Flexsteel Furniture, Villa, Palliser, Lafer, Lambright, Leather Furniture, Bradd & Hall - Bradd and Hall. Great Service. (Prices seen to be the same whoever you buy from) Ask for Stephanie

There are other brands out there, my coach has seats built by Summit Seating, specifically their signature series. Summit was bought out by HSM Transportation 3 or 4 years ago.

We have a 2014 Phaeton and have Flexsteel captains chairs the drivers chair r is uncomfortable to me so I am having them replaced at the Tiffin service center with chairs from a allegro bus the only thing that makes them not exchangeable is they have the Tiffin logo on the back of the chair they’re not cheap they are Villa chairs.

Air Ride. Are any of the suggestions air ride? I know in some equipment I have run, they have small electric pumps to adjust seat height. I'd like a new seat like that in my MH.

As stated, the majority of RV seats are either Villa or Flexsteel. With that in mind, each manufacturer selects the level/quality of the materials. That's why some seat covers go bad in a few years and some last forever.

A couple of years ago, Newmar switched to Villa form Flexsteel and lowered a lower quality material. Almost immediately, the material started to wear funny. Villa made it known that they were not responsible for the quality of material Newmar ordered. Newmar paid to have all the products recovered.

We are going to replace the chairs when feasible. We just happened to see a couple of air ride chairs at a Freightliner service center. 2 things to consider:
1. Boy are they expensive
2. Freightliner told us we would have to really spend some additional money getting the air cables and other things installed for the seats to work.

I've driven a Monaco Signature and a Holiday Rambler Navigator with an air ride seat. They were nice but very expensive options. The electric adjustment is fine as long as it works.

I'm trying to locate either new captain's chairs, or have my current chairs reupholstered and that is proving to be a very difficult task. Villa International will not rebuilt there own chairs and some shops won't work on them because of the shoulder harness passing through the seat back.

Yeah I am almost tempted to go to a wrecker and just by a matched set out of whatever feels good. Its a shame as my passenger seat is immaculate and the drivers one feels great but has the slide damage on the back. Its surprisingly hard to find a wrecker who shows their product online.
