Arizona Vehicle License Tax

Who here own a newer class A, that's titled in Arizona? Would you mind sharing what you pay annually in Vehicle License Tax? Has anyone from Arizona seen that tax and decided it might be better to change domicile to a friendlier state? Thanks for sharing.

AZ assesses a 'Vehicle License Tax (VLT) in lieu of property tax
The VLT is based on an assessed value of 60% of the manufacturer's base retail price reduced by 16.25% for each year since the vehicle was first registered in Arizona (15% before 8/1/98). Then, as of the Dec 1, 2000 reduction, the rate is calculated as $2.80 (new vehicles)/$2.89 (used vehicles) for each $100 of the assessed value.

So 60% of mfg. base retail price......then $2.80 per $100 assessed valve

Example: $300,000 base retail at 60% = $180000
$180000 divided by $100 = 1800 X $2.80 = $5,040 (1sr yr registration fee)
Plus....registration fee ($9) and air quality fee ($1.50)

Renewals.....60% base retail is lowered by 16.25% each following year

Choosing 'Domicile' should weigh ALL of the costs/benefits VS vehicle registration fees
