Arizona vehicle registration costs?

Gang,
We're about to relocate from So CAL to Lake Havasu City. Our coach, an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the C-7 330 CAT, has a present registration cost of $350.00 in the So CAL area. We're trying to calculate what it's going to cost in the Havasu area/DMV. Based on, on line info, from what we can decipher, The fee is based on 60% of the vehicles manufacturer suggested retail price, reduced by 16.25% for each year after it is first registered in AZ. What? I'm usually not that slow on the uptake but, I'm not figuring out something here.

Our coach is now 10 years old. If we calculated things correctly, and based on their info for calculating it, we're going to be paying in the neighborhood of $800.00 for the AZ registration. Yeow!!!! And I thought CA was bad. Am I not figuring out something correct here?

Any AZ residents out there that can help?
Scott

Not sure if this will help, my 2001 Monaco Diplomat 40 ft. last yr. in Havasu was around $380.00 What I liked was no sales tax when purchased from owner.

Lued,
Thanks for the comeback on this issue. Your figure is certainly more encouraging than what we've calculated might be ours. I'm going to try and call the Arizona DMV today and maybe get some sort of closer idea. It's going to be what it's going to be and, we can't really do anything about it, if it's as high as we might have calculated. But, at least we'll be prepared.

Your insurance rates will probably change. Several years ago I registered my old jeep in AZ to leave it on our property near Kingman, AZ. Since it was registered in AZ I received notice I had to have AZ insurance on it. I don't remember the specifics but the insurance was considerably higher than I had been paying in Chula Vista, CA.

I just payed $36 for two years on my 1990 Winnebago. You can pay up to 5 years in advance and save for those years. If you sell before then they refund the difference. My truck went from 250 in California to 96 in Arizona. My insurance is cheaper too.

I would say 600-700 bucks. Our 07 is 981.00 this year. Aint cheap thats for sure. They stick it to you and bad roads on top of that....Try I-40 and then you know what I'm talking about..A real goat trail!

Licensing is one thing, but isnt AZ annual personal property tax on motorhomes really expensive?

One fellow told me over $5000.

I just titled and reg my 2000 Monaco in AZ. The story I got was the original purchace price when new and deducted 15% a year. They have a program they use for the numbers. Mine figured:
330k new and bottom line to walk out the door was 492.00 1 year.

Anybody know what it might be in Florida? Bought a 1999 Rexhall Air and haven't taken delivery yet. I don't like surprises.

They have their own book of manufactures base prices (not what you paid) that they calculate from. Calling the AZ MVD is the best way to get the correct cost. Whatever it is, it's worth it to live in Havasu!

02 Winnebago Journey 32T. Approximately $280.00 for June 2014-June 2015.

When new was over $2500. I think I'll keep it another 12 years.

Register it in Maricopa or Pima county AZ and you'll also need to pay for and bring it to an emissions test station each year.
