With armrest at 12oclock, push in real hard and then move toward the 3oclock area. Should pop right off.

Thanks for the advice. Is there a way to lower the armrests to a more comfortable position by pivoting them slightly downward? Also has anyone had to replace /repair the footrest motor in the flexsteel seat. The motor runs, but does not extend the footrest anymore.

I just had mine off - the instructions are accurate. It really is that easy.

If your armrests are adjustable (not all chair models have adjustable arms), there is a lever in the forward end of the arm. Rest your hand on top with fingers over the end and pull up on the lever located there. Raise/lower the arm to the desired position and release the lever to lock it.

If it is not adjustable, there is no lever in the forward tip of the arm.

Thanks Pirate, Gary and Roamer. My arms do not have adjustment tabs on the ends of the armrests so we will have to leave them as they are. Does anyone have any idea how to access/repair the motor that raises and lowers the foot rest?

I have found out that on my Flexsteel seats which where MFG around 2000 that you need to have the armrest horizontal then push in and rotate it down about 4 o-clock or 8 depending on which side you are working on then it will pull off. I would like to THANK everyone that responded.
