The DW and I love our Netflix series and the occasional Network shows, so I guess I'm saying we do enjoy watching the tv. We will be purchasing our coach in the next few months and we are amazed how many floor plans have the TV at a right angle. We wonder if it's just us, being used to having the tv in front of us, and it's just not that big of deal looking left or right to watch the box. So many of you must have the TV in the position we question, is it not a big deal?

I agree 100% with your observation.

Our Main TV is in the usual center over the dash location, but that is only great if you are laying on the couch. Also when sitting at the table, one of us gets to watch straight on, while the other can only get a partial reflection in our wall mirror.

I think TV positioning is mostly about where it will fit in the floor plan, and not if it faces the right way.

Not being able to look straight on is horrible and can exacerbate neck and black issues.

My Main TV is on center over the dashand it works for me but that is because I am laying on my couch or sitting at the dining table. Otherwise I am laying in bed and watching the tv straight on. Either way I dont spend a lot of time watching TV. Heck I haven't even hooked up my satellite in the past 2 years.

If you have a choice, don't get a TV at a right angle to the primary seating. We're like you and watch mostly Netflix and movies. When we were shopping for a MH, any floor plan that had a TV mounted at 90 degrees was immediately crossed of our list.

If you can HONESTLY say you don't watch TV or movies, then it's probably not a big deal. But if you do, then get a TV that's comfortable and convenient to watch, especially if you full time. Don't compromise on stuff, like short queens instead of a king bed, a tiny shower, or a single AC unit. You'll come to hate your coach and regret buying it.

I agree, the TV location in most coaches is the dumbest idea ever. We relocated ours into a custom cabinet across from two Lazyboy Recliners. Converted the space from the old CRT TV into a custom storage cabinet.

There are also some that use a 6" +_ deep space behind the couch on one side to house an LED TV on a lift if you want to have two couches or, a Hide A Bed across from a couple of recliners. I have seen some Newmar coaches with this later design.

That was one of the big no’s in floor plans. We got a Discovery 40E and it has a TV the comes up out of cabinet directly across from couch. Driver seat spins around and reclines so comfortable for us to watch movies and such.
