ATWOOD hot water heater GE 16TE

I have the above mentioned hot water heater. The element, I believe, is out and am looking for a replacement. I can't seem to find it listed like above. Has anyone had any problems with this brand and element? Also do you know what element I need?

Take another look at the model number - the 16 gallon model has one of these numbers:
G16EXT (gas only)
GE16EXT (gas+ electric)
GEH16EXT (gas+electric+heat exchanger)

Why do you think the electric element is out? That is an uncommon failure for a recent model water heater like yours.

i would check the two thermostats first, (unless the element was turned on with no water in the tank).
they are cheap and will get crud between them and the case and cause a "no workie" condition
as a short fix you can peel back the rubber seal that protects them and spray some wd40 or similar to get the backs of them to make a better contact with the case
reset the breakers and try again
i replaced mine with a kit from atwood..less than 20 buckaroos

The GE16TE I believe was probably the original model number for the GE16EXT. We have the same one and when I contacted Atwood for an Owners manual, what they sent was the GE16EXT manual.
