Hello everyone. I have a question about my water heater G6A-8E. I only had my camper for a few months, and new just getting around to the water heater. Its heats the water great, but it doesnt shut off. I let it heat for at least 15 mintues. Did I not let it heat long enough?Or is it supoose to operate like this. I dont have a manual for it. Thanks

Operate like what?

The gas should continue burning until the temperature reaches 140 degrees and then shut off. 15 minutes may or may not be enough time to reach maximum temp- once you start using the hot water the burner will come on to keep the incoming water hot (its only a 6 gallon tank- the cold water coming in will drop the temperature fast).

Did you turn the W/H on and it NEVER shut off, even if you did not use any hot water? Did you use a thermometer on the water at the tap?

Thanks for the reply. I will start it again, tonite. Will let it run longer, and check the temp of the water at the tap

It takes about 35-45 minutes for mine to heat up and shut off.

You can go on line with the model# and download a manual for yourself.
