Auto levelers - Electric or Hydraulic and how to tell. And they are not working

Hello, we bought the 08 GS Bounty Hunter with broken leveler system, was told it was the sensors. Can they be adjusted manually underneath the coach? How do you tell if they are electric or hydraulic? Or is it both? Should they have different ways of manually using them? Want to try to use them before we get them fixed since we are camping right now. Thanks.

Best answer is to get the owner's manual for the system.
It doesn't sound like YOU are fixing it, so at this point don't really need to know the technical difference between "electric" and "Hydraulic".

But, to answer the question...if there is a tank of fluid and that tank has a pump and there are hoses going to the leveling legs....then that is a hydraulic system.

If no tank, then electric. Heavier wires will go to motors on the legs.

You should post what year / make / model your RV is in your signature and the Brand / Model of the leveling system in your post that will get you better answers.

They look to be electric but there are many things that could be "broken." Something more specific like what they are or are not doing. Your question is like saying "my car is broken what can I do to fix it."

The electric levelers didnít work on our Ď07 Tiffin when we bought it used. Each leveler had a hex drive on it that I was able to turn with an adapter to my battery drill. After that, they worked fine, so there may have been corrosion on the leveler motor that was removed when I manually operated them.
